Vertical theatre /// Global Amazonia · Timebank · Mura
Aerial Dancers are lively geckos that explore their biotope on vertical surfaces. They team up with a climate activist and spiritual forces, meet the figure of Mama Amazonia, as the embodiment of the threatened Amazon, and fight for their habitat.
They are hybrids of the believes of soulful nature and very recent political initiatives that want to award trees, rivers and landscapes with the status of a legal persons.
Everything is connected to everything else. Climate change and species extinction are a consequence of our way of life. Limiting ourselves is one solution. But above all, it is about a new relationship to what we like to call 'resources': The earth, the plants, the animals, the cultures.
GLOBAL AMAZONIA is an associative simultaneous theater that combines the levels of breathtaking aerial performance, vertical theater, with audience- oriented actions on the ground, large-scale, sensual video projections and an intense musical soundtrack.
The production is inspired by the sustainable interaction of indigenous communities with nature, and at the same time takes a global perspective. It takes a closer look to the relationship between humans, the animal and plant world and the landscape forms of the earth.
GLOBAL AMAZONIA combines ancient wisdom with current philosophies to create a spectacular event for the eye, ear, heart and brain and brings the topic of climate change to a broad audience in a low-threshold way.
